ok so the previous HC is officially "resigned" aka "removed" aka "fired"... school board has made the HC job "officially open"... and i had my second interview which was another 3 hour interview, long, detailed, about my steps with budget, boosters, staff, blah blah... im EXTREMELY confident that i have it, as the principal even talked about sitting in through the hiring process with me for my staff coming up for next year...

anyways...

i have my system almost completely done... i am going pistol with some S/G Wing-T type stuff... and wil be using zone blocking with "smart splits" which will be HUGE for the athletes i plan on taking over...

im turning in my letter of intent to the principal next week... and they will be announcing at the April school board meeting...

once i get my playbook tightened up just a tad bit more, i will re-post it...

we even talked about looking for homes during my interview lol... i dont know how i CAN NOT get this job...

I hope you get it man....I really do....its always nice when you can give back to the community that you are from.....Hey if you ever need a defensive Coordinator I'll come and give ya a hand ....or i can coach up the linebackers for ya since i am an ex d2 linebacker myself....But yeah man good luck with that and keep us posted.....

Good luck. Rebuilding takes a lot of work, but as long as you get support and you yourself don't give up, you should do fine. What you said about bussing is a big big deal. My first job in Florida had a huge issue with that. We had guys enrolled in our school who lived on the other side of the county--about 15 miles away. These were usually our low income kids, and in the summer, I had to personally go pick up a couple of these kids myself to get them to workouts. It's tough.

well in this second interview... i reassured them that i would stand by them to go to the school board to get a "small" budget for a bus allowance... and then go from there...

this school... LITERALLY... has kids that drive 30 minutes to school... im not lying... seriously...

so its HUGE that we get this passed...
