    Going for 2

Post by Carrie_Underwood on Fri Sep 25, 2009 11:42 pm

When do you think going for 2 should be done after a TD? Would you ever try to convert one in the first half? 3rd quarter?

Would you only do it to turn a 2 possession game into a 1 possession game, or to turn a deficit into a tie?

What about if you are down 5 in the 4th quarter, say with 7+ minutes left.

Do you go for 2, and if you get it you are down only a FG? But risk not getting it and then need a TD and 2 point conversion should the other team get a FG?

Or do you go for 1 to make it a 4 point game, so if they get a FG you can still tie it without going for 2?

Depends on how confident you are. Putting up 8 can demoralize the other guy sometimes. I personally don't do it. I try to save those decisions for the 4th qtr.

    In the 4th yes...

I would depend on my D unless I'm having trouble stopping the guy...or I haven't been able to punch it in.

I'll go for 2 to avoid OT sometimes.

mine too i don't do the going for 2 unless i have to...plus point chasing usually ends up in a one point or 2 point loss...so i don't do it...
